Training on The National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas)- Quarterly Household Survey (Seruti)

January 24, 2025 | Other Activities

Hello #Data Friends

The Kolaka Regency Central Statistics Agency (BPS) has carried out training on the National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas)- Quarterly Household Survey (Seruti) in two waves, which took place online and offline. Wave I was held on 13-17 January 2025 and wave II was held on 20-24 January 2025. This training aims to increase the competency of field officers in collecting accurate and quality data. With a hybrid training format, BPS Kolaka ensures that all participants can take part in this training effectively, regardless of geographical constraints.

Susenas is one of the important surveys conducted by BPS to collect data related to the social and economic conditions of Indonesian society. The data produced from Susenas is very useful for various parties, both government and private. The government uses this data as a basis for formulating policies, such as alleviating poverty, developing education, and improving health services. Meanwhile, private parties can utilize this data to analyze business opportunities or design more targeted marketing strategies.

In this training, 56 prospective officers (24 Susenas Field Enumeration Officers, 13 Seruti Field Enumeration Officers, and 19 Field Inspection Officers) were provided with knowledge about survey methodology, interview techniques, and the use of digital devices for recording data. This approach aims to ensure the data collection process can be carried out efficiently and produce valid information. Apart from that, the training also emphasized the importance of maintaining the confidentiality of respondent data.

BPS Kolaka also appealed to all respondents or #SahabatData who were sampled in Susenas to receive visits from officers well. Cooperation from respondents is very important to ensure that the data collected reflects the real conditions of society. By providing honest and open information, respondents contribute to nation building.

With the successful implementation of this Susenas training, BPS Kolaka hopes that field officers can carry out their duties better. Quality Susenas data not only supports evidence-based policy formulation, but also plays a role in sustainable development. Through this effort, it is hoped that synergy can be created between data and policy to realize the welfare of society as a whole.
