Abstraction
  • In December 2021, inflation was 0.23 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 107.87. Of the 90 CPI cities, 88 cities experienced inflation and 2 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation was recorded in Jayapura at 1.91 percent with a CPI of 105.87 and the lowest inflation was recorded in Pekanbaru at 0.07 percent with a CPI of 106.53. Meanwhile, the deepest deflation was recorded in Dumai at 0.13 percent with a CPI of 107.70 and the lowest deflation was recorded in Bukittinggi at 0.04 percent with a CPI of 106.59.
  • The inflation rate for the calendar year (January–December) 2021 and the year-on-year inflation rate (December 2021 against December 2020) are 2.59 percent each.
  • Commodities contributing to inflation include air transportation, cayenne pepper, cooking oil, household fuel and red chili.
  • Commodities that contributed to deflation included scad fish/benggol fish, mackerel/bloated fish/banar fish/gembolo fish/aso-aso fish, anchovies, skipjack tuna/scale fish and selar fish/tude fish.
